By using Scanly, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Scanly is a document scanning app that lets you capture, edit, sign, protect, and organize documents on your device. It also offers an optional AI Chat feature that lets you ask questions about a document you choose to upload.

You don't need an account to scan, edit, or organize documents. An account, via Google Sign-In, is only required to use AI Chat. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure.

When using Scanly, you agree not to:

• Upload or scan content you don't have the right to possess or share.
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to abuse, circumvent, or automate around usage limits (such as the free-chat allowance) on AI Chat.
• Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our servers.

AI Chat generates answers using AI, grounded in the document you upload. It can still be incorrect or incomplete. AI Chat answers are not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice — always verify anything important against the original document.

AI Chat currently includes a limited number of free questions per account. Continued use beyond that limit will require a subscription; details will be shared before that takes effect.

You retain all rights to the documents you scan or upload. For any document you upload to AI Chat, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process it (for OCR, indexing, and generating answers) for as long as it remains on our server under the retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.

Scanly uses Firebase (Google) for basic app-usage analytics on every install, Firebase (Google) for sign-in, and Groq for generating AI Chat answers. Your use of the app is subject to those providers' own terms where applicable. Full detail on what each of these collects is in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access to AI Chat for accounts that violate these terms. Core scanning features remain available on your device regardless, since they don't depend on an account.

Scanly is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app or AI Chat will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, Scanly and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on AI Chat's answers.

We may update these terms as Scanly changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
